‘Where the heck is Riga?’ you were probably thinking as you click the link. Riga is the capital of Lavita and Lavita is located on the Baltic Sea in the Northern part of Europe. Lavita regained its independence during most of our lifetimes and has quickly risen to high income status as a developed country and member of the European Union. So… you've found a cheap flight and want to quick city break weekend away. Here's how to spend 24 hours seeing all the city has to offer.
9 AM : Find your way to Badass Bagels for breakfast. I promise you won't be disappointed. This little breakfast and lunch spot will give you the energy to make it through the day. They offer a number of international bagel sandwiches or the option to make your own. You can even enjoy your bagel with a tasty smoothie. It is the best bagel you'll ever have!

10AM : Walk on over to the massive Central Market where you can spend the next couple of hours sampling seasonal food and trolling the cheap merchandise.
12 PM: Catch the free walking tour of Old Riga. I suggest taking part in the Cultural tour which picks up at 12 every day between the Art Academy and Orthodox Church, next to the monument of the sitting man, Rainis. The tour lasts about 2.5 hours and will take you through the Art Nouveau district and into the old town. The guides bring the city and stories to life with tales only heard on the walks. This is a must when visiting Riga!

3PM : You're probably feeling a little hungry so make your way back towards to the Radisson to have a light lunch and a cocktail in the Sky Bar. You'll want to spent some time taking in the view which never grows old and trying all the delicious cocktails on the extensive menu. Need a little pick me up? Try the Espresso cocktail. Enjoying the warm sun shining through the windows? Go for something a little more summery with the Elderflower Gin option. This menu will provide an option for whatever you're craving.

5PM : Dinner at Rozengrals. This restaurant might be more on the tourist side, but it captured our hearts with its dungeon appearance

6:30 PM - Closing time: Join the Riga Bar Crawl by starting with a tour of the beer brewery.

Riga is known for its night life and it could definitely stand up against the likes of other major cities with the repetition of never sleeping. The hours seem to pass by as minutes and the venues become more alive as the night goes on. Each spot offered its own amazing vibes and no two places were the same. Here are a few spots to check out if you find yourself strolling the streets past midnight.
Rock Cafe
This spot is rather small but full of spunk. The terrible Karaoke will not only keep you entertained, but inspire you to get up and yell into the microphone as well.

Radio Bar
This massive venue offers amazing atmosphere with rooms upon rooms of live music with a concert vibe. This spot has something for everyone.
